“My husband and I were enjoying our 25th anniversary during the 2020 coronavirus outbreak. We were struggling with our airline not assisting to return us to our country – Canada. Canadian Embassy was of no help either. Our front desk representative spent HOURS assisting our evacuation from the country. We required a combination of island air and ground transport through Mexico to Cancun. Without Joel’s assistance we would still be there wondering if we would ever get to go home. We can’t thank Joel enough! All of the staff were super friendly, and still smiling despite the uncertain times. Our cabana was clean and comfortable, we enjoyed our short time there and if we ever go back our first choice will be Captain Morgan’s without hesitation. Extremely trustworthy, super kind, helpful. “The crew at Captain Morgan’s Retreat was awesome. Our room was taken care of and had a nice touch of flower petals when we checked in and immediately we realized they cared about clean!!! Clean room, clean bathroom, clean sheets, clean, clean, clean!!! Roger helped us with all of our excursions for snorkelling and a trip to the Mayan ruins! This is a great place and really nice to have everything (golf cart, restaurant, store, and beach) onsite. We will be coming back.”

“One of the most memorable fun trips we have ever taken. Captain Morgan’s is by far the premier stay on Ambergis Caye. Our little bungalo was just perfect, rustic enough with all the amenities needed. Just stick your toes in the sand and listen to the ocean crashing over the reef a mile out. Our casita had a sweet front porchcovered in palm thatch, so nice to greet the sunrise with a cool non-stop breeze off the Caribbean. Will we go back again??? This next year. Can’t wait. ”

“The inside of our condo was beautiful. Our kids felt like they were staying in a palace. Comfortable beds and plenty of air conditioning and a humidifier. We had a washer and dryer as well which was nice to get cleaned up before the trip home.”

“We have travelled extensively all over the Caribbean and Central America and this is one of the most genuine and authentic experiences we have had. Our view from our room was incredible. The staff were some of the nicest we have met while traveling. The grounds are exceptionally well maintained. Our room was nicely furnished, had a spectacular balcony and had its own WiFi and was quite large overlooking the beach and sea right at the end of the property. Would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended.”

“Stayed in a room right on the beach. Room was comfortable and clean with plenty of room and a great location. A/C worked great and plenty of hot water. No bugs. All the staff I dealt with were extremely friendly and helpful. The grounds were very well kept up and sand was raked at least daily if not more.”

The rooms were clean, everyone was very friendly and gave great recommendations for things to do and places to eat in San Pedro, especially our concierge Boni. The amenities were awesome. We had the ability to take the kayaks out a couple times to see dolphins and eagle rays, which is all complimentary. I would stay here again.”
