How far in advance should I book my wedding?
Time goes by so quickly in the planning process! It is because of this that we recommend booking at least a year or year and a half in advance. This way you also have plenty of time to coordinate travel with your guests.

Are rooms held for my guests to ensure everyone can stay at Captain Morgan’s?
Yes, we are able to hold rooms with a deposit after confirming your booking.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of guests that can attend my wedding?
The minimum would be you, the couple! We like to keep weddings under 80 people but are always willing to discuss your group size.

How are my wedding details planned from afar?
After you complete the initial inquiry form our coordinator will be in touch to finalize the major details and begin your wedding file. The majority of communication is done through e-mail but phone meetings can easily be arranged as well. We welcome our brides to send us inspiration images and ideas as they come across them!

Can I bring my own photographer? Or do you have a list of recommended photographers?
Yes and yes! You are welcome to bring a photographer of your own or hire one locally. We are happy to provide recommendations for local talent.

What is the best time of day for a beach wedding?
The best time for a beach wedding is between 4 and 5pm. There is plenty of sunlight without the light being too bright and unflattering. It also allows for sunset pictures!

What happens if it rains on my wedding day?
Rain often doesn’t last long enough here to create a problem! We can always move to a covered space if necessary.

Do you have any tips for selecting my wedding dress, hair and make-up?
Wear whatever you want! It’s your wedding day and just because you’re on the beach doesn’t mean you should skip an elaborate dress. One thing to keep in mind is that there’s usually some kind of breeze on the beach. We will position you to be facing the breeze so your hair isn’t in your face, but it is something to keep in mind when you select your hair style and veil.

What is the process for getting married in Belize?
You must be in the country for 3 days prior to getting your marriage license. If this is your first marriage, all you need for the paperwork is your passport. In the case of previous marriages, you are required to bring the final dissolution with a court stamp or seal or death certificate. Notarized copies are acceptable if originals aren’t available.
